We had help established the first “inclusion” program for special need children in Tianjin, China. Most the special need children in the school are Autism who is thought to be either stupid or violent as animals by general Chinese people. We had help to recruit Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist and occupational therapists as volunteers to go to Tianjin and train the teachers and educate the general public. Currently there are 15 special need children in Small World Preschool in Tianjin. And there are 1 physical therapist, 1 speech therapist from America and 2 special education teacher from Denmark working there.
Over the past short three years we have accomplished quite a lot. We have help the Qingxian village in Hebei Province of China renovate their preschool facility which was in very primitive condition with broken walls, dirt playground, bathroom and no heating or cooling mechanism.
The main goal of our volunteer program is cultural exchanging. All volunteers will be provided with round-trip airline tickets (economy only), room and board (utilities excluded), three weeks’ vacation for traveling, and up to 3000RMB traveling compensation.
